When We Buy Toys, Are We Smart Buyers?

With the holiday season approaching, and the financial crisis looking up (regardless of the length or other economic factors), people will be spending money on gifts. The reasons are generally at a consensus; people want to express their love, with gifts. Call it the holiday spirit, or what have you, but we love to bless other people. Are we really being smart when we buy toys, though?

The concept of a smart buyer is not a new one, but it might be unknown to holiday shopping. We sometimes figure that the price listed at our favorite stores to shop, are what we have to pay. Those prices are usually dramatically marked up because of our presupposition! There are smarter ways to shop, and the biggest leap for saving those dollars is the internet. The prices online are typically 10% less than in stores right off the bat. We are just not used to those method of purchasing.

Some might say, oh but what about Black Friday? While Black Friday does provide some incredible deals, those savings are not limited to just brick and mortar stores. In fact, many online retailers have their own form of Black Friday. This is very appealing, seeing that we don't have to stand in the cold for hours, on such a precious holiday as Thanksgiving.

When we make the venture to shop online, the prices are very appealing right off the bat. But be careful; the prices listed are not always the prices we pay. I'm talking about the added on shipping and tax. There are, however, stores online that provide no tax, with free shipping! That just continues to skim away at the awesome prices.

The vast selection of stores online, create some kind of a price war. The prize of that price war victory is you. Your sales are their main concern! That gives us incredible purchasing power. They will throw deals at us left and right, just to have our business. Keep an eye out for limited time offer deals.
